Marie -Anna Das '24 Recruiting Profile

Hi coaches!

My name is Marie-Anna, but I like to be called Mari. I'm from Shrewsbury MA but lived in Westborough until last year. It was a tough move but the new opportunities I was given I am very grateful for. I play for FC Stars in Lancaster MA and am an outside back or wingback. For high school I play defense on either side, middle or outside, and next season I will play forward to help the team. In college I want to study Biology on a PreMed track with a minor in Art History or Archaeology. I have always wanted to continue to help people and make my parents proud. They are both immigrants from two interesting countries that you'd probably never think of. My mom is from the Czech Republic and her willingness to persevere through life's hardships as a single mom I admire. My dad is from India and he taught me everything I know. He'd take me to the field, pool and go on runs with me, he's the one who got me to watch the Premiere League. 

As for what I want in a program, I desire to be apart of a hardworking team. I have been on great teams but sometimes not everyone has the same goals and would rather lose than continue. A program with a great community and team bond is very important to me too. Not only so, pushing each other to help one another is crucial. Attending a school with a high level of academics is important, class size doesn't matter to me as long as I get a good education. 

Lastly, some goals I have is to become National Champs with whatever division I play in and graduate with a degree to become a doctor. Ultimately I want to be happy with the decision I made and continue on helping others.
