Coming into my freshman year, my goal was to make the varsity soccer, basketball and lacrosse teams and start and play all three sports throughout my four year high school career. Fortunately, I was able to accomplish that goal freshman year and help lead my team to playoff appearances in every season thus far in my career.
I grew most as an athlete my freshman year in lacrosse season. I originally made the team as a swing player between JV and Varsity. I was extremely disappointed as I felt I had the talent to be a starter on the varsity team. Although the coach originally told me that it would be tough to get playing time given the number of girls ahead of me, I continued to work hard in practice and once I was given the opportunity to show my skills in a game, I started for the remainder of the year, often covering our opponent's best player. I have taken this lesson of continuing to work hard in every practice and game and never settling into all three of my sports since then.
I believe I have the work ethic, skills and leadership skills to be successful. Regardless of the sport or game, I just love to compete. While I think my athleticism, aggressiveness and scoring abilities differentiate me, more importantly, I'm willing to do whatever it takes to win.
While continuing my athletic career in college is important to me, what is more important is finding the right college fit both athletically and academically. I am confident in my abilities to have a positive impact on a team as a leader and a player at the college level given my talents, commitment, leadership skills and work ethic.
