My name is Priscilla Miranda and growing up I played a lot of different sports. I even danced for 10 years, but soccer has stuck with me since I was five! I’ve been a starter on the Dana Hall varsity soccer team for 4 years, as a Freshman I played multiple positions and my Sophomore year I played as a defensive mid and was awarded EIL honorable mention. My year Junior I played center back primarily as well as left wing a little bit. I was also named captain for my team for the 2024 season. This is my 4th year playing club for Scorpions SC ECNL RL as a center back.
Playing soccer has always been something I love. It has taught me how to be a good teammate, versatile, and determined, among many other things. I would also say I am competitive and think it comes a lot from having a brother that is a year younger than me and plays academy-level soccer. Many things I have learned from this sport also translate into how I am as a student. At Dana Hall, I participate in various clubs, including Blue Key Club where I give tours to prospective students, Crew which is our school spirit club, and S.H.A.D.E.S which is our Black and Latinx Affinity Group where we talk about diversity, equity, and inclusion.
My goal for college is to find a school that I love and could see myself thriving both academically and athletically. I also would want a school that will allow me to continue to grow as a person, a student, and an athlete because you can’t be one without the other! These three traits are something that my dad has always instilled in my siblings and I and understands since he was a student-athlete.
