I've always had a special place in my heart for the game of soccer ever since I was a young child. I began to play on simple town teams at the age of four and then quickly got involved in club soccer. From there my love for the sport only grew. What I loved and still love the most about the sport was being a part of the team. I consider my teammates some of my closest friends and even still are good friends with some of my teammates from my old rec teams. They're part of what really makes the sport worth playing. The other part is just the thrill of the game in itself. I love the rush of scoring a tricky shot on net or faking out an opponent with a new move every now and then. That's why I want to play college soccer. I'd love to be part of a team working to win games and maybe even championships while also being able to give and receive individual support to and from my teammates.
Academics are also very important to me and will always come first. My parents have always encouraged me to work hard in and out of school, and as I've grown older, more and more I realized the importance of maintaining good grades and establishing a disciplined yet adventurous lifestyle. I plan to continue to work hard in college and continually mature along my way.
I don't know exactly what profession I would like to work as in the future, but I do know I want to have a job where I can be a part of something bigger than myself. This is why I plan to major in Ecology or some type of Environmental Biology program. As of recently, I've noticed that our planet is facing many environmental problems and I'd love to learn about and help solve these problems. I already participate in beach cleanups regularly and try to volunteer whenever I can.
