Sophia Korynta '24 Recruiting Profile

I'm Sophia Korynta, and I am currently a senior at Alexandria Area High School.  I started playing soccer at age four, and my love for the sport has only grown.  I have played many different positions, including being pulled up in my 8th-grade year to play JV soccer as the goalkeeper.  Now, I am one of the starting forwards and have played as an outside midfielder whenever needed.  The past three years have been largely successful for my team here in Alexandria.  We have advanced to the state tournament the past two years, and in 2020, we finished the season as second in our section!  In 2022, I was our leading goal scorer and had the second-highest assist count on the team.  This year, our 2023 season, I am sitting as the leader in points in the Lakes Area Conference. I'm sitting at 35 points total, 24 of those being goals and 11 being assists. I would describe myself as a driven, positive, reliable player who is never second-guessed of my ability to show up and work hard.  I am most known through all three of my varsity sports for never letting off the pedal and pursuing the end goal.  

In addition to my soccer career, I am on the varsity hockey and track team.  You can also find me in the weight room, where I work to become faster, stronger, and more agile through power cleans, back/front squats, bench presses, and many other movements.  In school, I am looking to propel my education throughout my upcoming semesters of high school.  I have maintained a 4.0 out of 4.0 GPA, even with college classes, and I plan to prolong that statistic. In the future, I want to continue to play the sport I love and live out the life I have built for myself with a high education, a successful career, and a few more years of soccer under my belt.
