When I started soccer at the age of three I never thought that I would be where I am right now. As I look back on my career today, I see that soccer isn't just a sport I play but something that has become a part of me and I couldn't imagine my life without it. My dad has influenced my love for the sport a lot. When I was little I would look up to what he did and aspired to be just like him. But as the days go by and I get older I notice the similarities between us, but I also realize there's also a place to write my own story and strive to be the person I want to be. There's been many rocky times in my career, but the more bumps in the road there are, the more I look at me and remind myself of why I'm here and what I'm doing this for. I do it because it isn't just some hobby that I picked up, but a life choice and something that has taken a chunk of my heart. It's not something I can let go of when the going gets tough. Soccer has taught me many things like how to balance school with the practices of a multi sport athlete, how to have confidence and believe in myself that I can, how to build friendships with many players and coaches, have good sportsmanship with opponents, and how to push myself to get better whether its soccer or not.
