Hi, my name is Makenna Arboreen. I am 16 years old and will graduate in 2020. I have a little sister, Peyton, who also plays club soccer and my dad is an Organized Crime Detective with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and my mom is a Fitness Instructor and stay at home mom. We live in Henderson, Nevada.
My current goal is to graduate high school with an Advanced Honors Diploma and maintain my current 4.0 GPA. I'm also a member of the National Honor Society and former member of the National Junior Honor Society. After learning more about the college admissions process, I know now how important this is. I also will be taking the SAT (my PSAT score was 1090 my freshman year) and the ACT (my Pre-ACT composite score was 23) tests within the next 6 months and I would like to score in the 90% for both. I know if I achieve this goal and maintain my current GPA, I will dramatically increase my ability to earn academic scholarships and get accepted at most of the colleges I'm interested in attending. I also know this will help my soccer coach, if I'm blessed enough to earn an athletic scholarship too. My education and an opportunity to play soccer for my college are both really important to me.
I'm interested in the Physicians Assistant program, Sports Medicine and Pediatric Medicine. I'm also very motivated to be part of a team, where I can contribute to our success on and off the field. I love leading my current teams, both high school and club, and I really hope to earn a spot on my college team and do the same. I'm a really hard worker, with a great attitude and appreciation for the "team first" mentality! I'm also really honest and caring and I LOVE being on a team. I really love all the work that goes into it during the week (the grind) and then an opportunity to go to battle with my team against our competition. My coaches have told me that I'm a gritty player, with no fear on the field and a great vision for the game, which helps me make quick decisions with the ball. I feel like I'm a strong defensive player, but have really found a home on the field as a midfielder. I love the attack more now than ever before. I also do not like letting my teammates, my coaches or my family down. I know I'm a perfectionist, which helps me stay focused, but I can be overly critical of myself at times. I'm working on that part!
I hope that's enough information, but not too much, about me. I'm really looking for an opportunity to play college soccer and if given the opportunity....I won't let you down, I promise! I will also continue to do my part now and stay focused and working really hard on and off the field while I'm in high school.
Thank you for your time,
Makenna Arboreen
