Sophia Barresi '26 Recruiting Profile

My name is Sophia Barresi and I am a 2026 graduate from Bayonne NJ. My primary position is center back, but have the versatility to also play as an outside back. I play on NJ Crush 08 in the ECNL RL League, previous Girls Academy League.  I'm a very committed player and I have experience playing at a high level. I can read the field very well, I'm very vocal and I'm comfortable using both feet. I have good recognition of the attacking moment, a good passing range, and switch the point of attack effectively.  I am still currently the captain of my club team and high school team. I played varsity on my high school team as a freshman through my current year.  I am a starter on both of my teams and play the majority, if not all, of the game.  I made ECNL All-Regional League Team, 3x First Team All County and First Team All Division. 

Excellence has been a personal goal. I have done everything I can to find and earn that success in whatever I set my mind to. My dedication and commitment have helped me build character and develop critical problem-solving skills not only on the soccer field but also academically. I am a high achiever, who never settles, and I am constantly seeking out new training opportunities and pushing the boundaries of my potential. I am looking to pursue a degree in Health Science/Sports Medicine whilst furthering my soccer career.   I am able to balance a demanding high school academic schedule and play soccer for my high school and club team.  Playing soccer and pursuing a college degree are two very important things to me.  I believe I could be an asset to any college soccer program.
