As a fifteen-year-old, people tell me that it’s ok if I don’t know what my real passions are yet; to try out different things and see which one sticks. But I’ve always known from the very beginning that soccer is my one true love and passion. I started out in my town’s rec league when I was five, and you could say I’m here now because I was the one girl who never quit. I kept moving up the ranks and have loved every second of it. Not only has soccer grown to be just an infatuation to me, but it has shaped my character as well. The sport has instilled in me the importance of a hard working attitude, leadership, confidence, and good relationships with others, (coaches, teammates, ect...) These facets of my character along with my skills and knowledge of the game make me an asset to wherever I go.
As for my play, I try my hardest every time I’m on the field, no matter the setting or any obstacles that attempt to impede me. My style as a player is definitely centered around skills and creativity more so than brute force, and nothing makes me happier than being part of a team that can possess the ball around an opposition with quick combinations and I love getting to play with others who share my same view. In fact, whenever I play, I always try to emulate players like Andres Inesta, Philippe Coutinho, Megan Rapinoe, and Tobin Heath.
In conjunction to my play, I also have big aspirations for the academic side of things. Currently, I have a near-perfect academic record and a 4.0 GPA. Just like in soccer, I am obsessed with learning new information and acquiring new skills. Moreover, soccer has been one of the most important, influential, and inestimably valuable experiences of my life, and I wish to take it as far as I can to continue to learn new things about myself and grow as a player and person.
