Thank you for taking the time to view my profile. My name is Emma Hood and I am from a small town on Long Island where I played for The Brentwood Wildcats team, but recently joined Ny Surf which is another team nearby. I did this in order to challenge myself and surround myself with stronger, better players. I play as an attacking midfielder but am willing to play anywhere needed for my team. I have a competitive nature and strive to do my best and improve on the soccer field as well as other parts of my life. This can be on the field, running a race in track or even doing well on tests, I enjoy the thrill of competition and hope to continue that in college.
I live in a town where there is no club team, barely a school team, and no interest in soccer. Playing in the town I live in, I don't get the experience other players do elsewhere, or even the towns directly beside mine. Although it's unfortunate in some ways it led me to realize it's just a game, nothing more. Winning is what every team wants, what every player wants, we love those titles, but building relationships, having a good time on the field, and providing help to one another is what I realize is most important being on this team. Although I'm not learning techniques and strategies about the game, I learned and still am learning what it's like to work so hard for something that you feel good even though you lose, because you know you tried your hardest. During the moments that we win, those are moments that I cherish, because they don't come often.Something I don't fear is a challenge, and I hope that in my future soccer career I experience many in order to keep me on my feet and to keep me learning. I want to take my soccer skills to the next level and as high as possible for myself. This game means a lot to me and I wish to never stop. I am looking forward to what comes next for me.
