My name is Samantha Schroeder. I am currently a Junior at Jericho Senior High School. Being a college athlete has always been a dream of mine ever since I was young. I have many goals and aspirations of becoming a college athlete. It would be an honor to be given the chance to play at a college level. I have invested countless years of my life for me to be ending it as a high school career. As a player who has been granted to play on many teams with new teammates, I believe it is the empathy for the sport that connects us and to work together. Throughout my career, I have struggled with multiple injuries. After a major surgery, a broken ankle, and many months of PT and soccer rehabilitation, I have discovered myself becoming a better player overall. Giving my all has always been my strong suit. I have always humbled myself and never let my success get to my head. I rely on my coaches, teammates, and parents' comments to improve my game since you can never be too good. On and off the field, I have become an extremely dedicated athlete and student and always putting my best foot forward to help myself and others. With continuous hours of practice daily for many sports, being out from 8 a.m. till 10 p.m. I found a way to balance both sports and school. I managed to find a schedule that works for me where I allow myself a couple of hours for myself to study to maintain my grades and take advantage of my free periods throughout the day to finish school work. I get along with many and share ideas to help not only others but take feedback to better myself as well. Being given this opportunity of a lifetime is just amazing, and I am extremely excited to see how far this sport I have such a deep connection to can stay with me.
