Personal Statement

“The only place where success comes before work is in the dictionary” - Vince Lombardi. I have lived by this quote every day since 4th grade. I had recently just tried out for a soccer club and I was far from being the best on the team. Knowing I wasn’t the best did not keep me from playing the game; I worked hard at practice and outside of practice to progress to the next level. Over the past 5 years, I continued to work hard, push myself, and am now in a starting position on the 2009 Syracuse Development (“SDA”) Girl’s Academy team. I play outside back for SDA and outside midfield on my High School Soccer Team, however, have proven to be a versatile player with the ability to play any position on the defensive and midfield lines.  Due to my coachability and drive I have become a strong, dynamic player that is an asset to both of the teams I play on.

My dedication and work ethic is not only present on the field, but also in the classroom in which I maintain a 4.0 average. I hold leadership positions in the Student Council and also serve as our SDA Team representative with the Girl’s Academy. In the next 4 years my goal is to continue to challenge myself both academically and athletically to position myself to play soccer at the collegiate level.
