Update: Although, it is early in the 2018 school year I have grown tremendously and started to figure out what I want to do past high school. One thing that I realized is that academically I am not being challenged enough which, has contributed to my decision to graduate high school in 3 years instead of the normal 4. To just clarify and maybe help some of the confusion between my video graduation year and my graduation year at the top of my profile I am now graduating in 2020.
Also, when I was in rec soccer I appreciated the time that the coaches volunteered to help make us better players. I wanted to give that same joy to other children that I was given at their age. So, I decided to volunteer to help coach the U10 and U14 boys soccer teams. Coaching them has helped my love for soccer grow.
I started playing soccer at a very young age and would usually play goalie because no one else would volunteer. I enjoyed the position but realized that I had a passion for it in eighth grade when I made the varsity soccer team and had the opportunity to train with a coach who had played goalie at the college level. He encouraged me to further my training as I live in rural Upstate New York and opportunities are not that plentiful.
My skills have greatly improved over a short period of time and I now realize that this is truly the position for me. The passion that I have to work as hard as I can to learn as much as I can energizes my day. My goal is to attend a college that fits my passion for being a goalie and also satisfies my passion to further my education.
