Leah Blackwell '25 Recruiting Profile

Hi, my name is Leah! I currently play for Northern Guilford High School’s Varsity soccer team as a striker and wing and on NC Fusion’s ECNL Regional team as a forward and outside back.  I am a versatile offensive minded player capable of playing all field positions. I have above average speed with ball control, body control and a strong soccer IQ that can be expanded with the right coaches and trainers. I am an well rounded athlete with experience competing in various organized sports like track and basketball. I competed in AAU Basketball for approximately 4 years before soccer became my sport of choice. 

I understand that playing sports on the collegiate level is not about sports alone. My desire is to become a professional in the business world in either sports medicine or Human Resources. I want to give back and afford people opportunities I have been afforded in my life. I know things will not be easy, but I am a competitor that wants to strengthen my attributes and turn my weaknesses into strengths as well. As a student athlete, I know I must juggle the tasks and duties between academics and training, but if it was easy, everyone would do it. I am up to the challenges!
