Sophia Hernandez '23 Recruiting Profile

Thank you for taking the time to view my profile. My name is Sophia Hernandez, and I am a member of the Class of 2023. 

I currently play Left Wing and Attacking Midfield for the 04/05 Wilmington Hammerheads ECNL Regional Team. I have been a member of this team for 3 years and take great pride in being able to compete at this level. 

I am a hardworking player and committed to continuously learning how to be the best version of me. Weekly I make sure I am always aware of my training schedule to ensure I dedicate time to my studies, as well as cross training in the gym working on strength and conditioning. My player evaluations always include comments that I am "coachable" have a "great attitude" and am a "team player."  I am also described as a "playmaker"

I am well known for my strength, physicality and ability to win the ball. I have significant impact on all my teams in feeding the ball and leading in assists, as well as ability to shoot with both feet without wasting time with extra touches. 

Because I attended Private School through 9th grade, I was able to tryout, and make the Varsity Soccer Team beginning my 7th grade year and gained valuable playing experience with an early start which is why there is 4 years of Varsity experience on my soccer resume. 

I did not have a Spring 2020 season due to Covid when I was a freshman player and spent the time training and improving my technique.I have since gone on to play and have been awarded 1st Team All-Conference and led the Conference as the number 1 player in Assists, and Top 5 player overall for the NC Patriot 3A/4A High School Girls Soccer. 

My goal is to play Collegiate Soccer upon high school graduation and continue my education in pursuing a career in Criminal Justice and joining the military. 

My current ECNL playing schedule is listed, and I would like to invite you to attend any at your convenience.  As you know times and dates can change so please let me know if you will be attending so I can confirm time and field information. I am also scheduled to attend 3major tournaments, a college combine and several showcases this year.

My Club Coach and Director of the ECNL Regional Program are available to answer any questions you may have regarding my soccer performance.
