My name is Sophia Saville, and I am a high-performance center forward in the Ontario Player Development League, looking to continue my soccer journey at the collegiate level. My love for soccer began at age 3 while playing on my local house league team and became my passion and key interest when I was selected for the Belleville Comets U9 rep team. Since then, I have spent hundreds of hours training on my own, in my backyard, at the gym, going on runs and working on ball mastery. My passion and love for the sport, as well as my drive to succeed and overcome obstacles has only grown over the past few years. As I begin the next chapter of my life, I hope to have the opportunity to further my soccer career and continue to develop the academic and athletic skills which I have acquired throughout my childhood and high school years.
I am a hardworking individual who puts time and effort into everything I do, whether it’s maintaining a 4.0 GPA, working to improve my footwork, speed, agility and awareness on the pitch, volunteering to coach youth soccer, or teaching swimming lessons at the local pool. My dedication, determination, passion and creativity have led to many of my achievements both academically and athletically. From making Honour Roll 90% Club for the past 2 years and winning 7 top mark awards for my studies in grade 10, to being #6 top scorer in U16/17 OPDL and a Provincial Screening Competition Invitee for the past 3 consecutive years. Aside from my academic and athletic accomplishments, I have volunteered to coach youth soccer, been a counselor at summer camps, worked as a lifeguard, and swimming instructor. Through my time spent teaching others, working with children, and ensuring the safety of patrons and participants, these roles have helped me to build a variety of skills, such as those in leadership, responsibility, time management, independence, and perseverance. The variety of work and volunteer experience I have, as well as my background in sports has contributed to my success and growth in both my studies and soccer career. I am excited to continue working hard in both school and soccer and am looking towards the future with great anticipation.
