My highest aspiration has always been to play collegiate and professional soccer. Other than as a strong student, I define myself primarily as a soccer player. I don't distract myself with other sports or hobbies that take time or energy away from my training and schoolwork. I have been focused since a young age to reach my goal of playing professional (and collegiate) soccer.
Accomplishments:
Through my 1 v 1 Academy Team I have been scouted by English team Wolverhampton Wanders (Wolves FC) and Chievo Verona of Italy’s Serie A. I have been selected to travel to England with Wolves FC to train with their professional team in March/April of this year.
Academics
I am in 11th grade at Westmount Secondary school, starting Fall 2013 and will graduate in June 2015. I follow the self-paced academic curriculum at Westmount and in Grade 10 had an average of 93 % in an academic and enriched course-load as per the Ontario curriculum. I plan to take the SAT for the first time in Spring, 2014. I aim to study sport science and related disciplines (sport psychology, exercise science, biology, chemistry, etc) at the university level
Training
During the season I train 2-3 times per week with the Oakville SC u17 girls team and 3 times per week with 1 v 1 Academy (boys team).
During the school year I train 4 times a week on strength/agility in the gym and pool, as part of the Westmount Secondary School Sport Academy. I am accustomed to two-a-day sessions throughout the week.
I have recently taken on coaching very young players (U3-U57 ages) as part of my Academy program to pass on my love of the game to kids.
Competitive Season:
I will be playing for Oakville SC in U17 girls Elite Division, as well as for 1v1 Boys Academy U18 team in 2014
<!--[endif]-->Style of Play:
I am a possession-first central midfielder who is usually deployed in a holding role, but I also like to get forward in transition and attack. I have played as a left and right back, to help my team, as well. I try to play with both feet as much as possible and my? aim is always to control and pass the ball to involve my teammates and keep possession, though I will look to beat defenders 1 v 1 when needed. Defensively I look to slow down attackers and win the ball when I can. Once in possession, I look to start transition through passing. I struggle in “long ball” games where the midfield is not involved.?
Soccer Knowledge
I aim to help my team through good vision, controlled passing, composure and a high “soccer IQ”. I watch 1-2 hours of soccer per week on TV and on video. My soccer role models are Andrea Pirlo (Juventus), Mikel Arteta (Arsenal) and Xavi Hernandez (Barcelona). The team I follow most is Arsenal, both men’s and women’s.
