Being identified by the Canadian National Development Center (NDC) and the Ontario Provincial Excel Program, being selected for the Ontario Provincial Team, receiving the MVP Defender Award at the UNC - Chapel Hill College Bound Players Academy and playing in the highest competitive league in Canada, the Ontario Player Development League (OPDL), makes me extremely proud of my accomplishments to date. I am currently ranked #64 in Canada for the Top 125 2008 Girls.
My name is Naomi Langille and I have been playing soccer since I was four years old. From a young age, soccer has been more than just a game for me; it has been a driving force in my life. I am now in my sophomore year and will graduate in 2026. I’m searching for a university and soccer program that are a good fit athletically and academically.
I am a very technical player, trained early by a Portuguese coach who stressed the importance of a technical game and focused on the fundamental skills. This led to early recognition of my talent and at age 10 I was selected for the Global Premier Soccer (GPS) National Team and competed in Buffalo, NY. From there, I was chosen to participate in a FC Bayern Munchen Academy Camp in Guelph, Ontario. At the age of 12, I won my first cross-Canada skills challenge, based on four categories: 1. Driving Ball & Turning; 2. Dribble & Weave; 3. Breaking Lines; 4. Speed & Agility.
As a student athlete, I am academically strong with a good work ethic. I am an honor-roll student with a 4.0 GPA. I am currently enrolled in AP classes, and I am excelling in mathematics and sciences. I am a dual language student in a French Immersion program and intend to graduate secondary school with a certificate in Bilingual Studies designation. My dedication to my studies has taught me discipline and time management skills that translate seamlessly to my athletic pursuits. I aspire to study in the health sciences field and I’m still exploring where that will take me professionally.
I believe in hard work, daily skill practice and bringing a positive attitude to everything that I do. I am a dynamic and versatile player with a great understanding of the game. With my current club I play striker but I have also played many different positions such as winger, attacking midfield and outside/wing back. My strengths as a wing back would be my pace and endurance which allow me to jump into the play and become an important part of the attack. As an attacking midfielder, my strengths would be my vision and awareness, allowing me to know when best to attack goal or break lines and support. As a forward, my speed and athleticism set me apart because of my ability to make runs, take defenders on 1v1, exploit space and get to goal and finish.
The biggest assets I bring to a team is that I am a coachable player, a team player and I always strive to bring my very best. What sets me apart from other candidates is not just my achievements but my character. I approach every game and practice with enthusiasm and sportsmanship and strive to create a supportive environment for my teammates. Soccer is a team sport and it’s about lifting each other up and working towards a common goal.
My aspiration is to play soccer at the collegiate level, playing with and competing against the best and continually pushing myself to improve.
