Mya Newcombe '25 Recruiting Profile

I am currently a member of Scrosoppi FC, a League 1 Ontario team based out of Milton, Ontario Canada.  League 1 is sanctioned by FIFA and is the province of Ontario's pro-am, standards-based senior league.  Prior to joining Scrosoppi FC in October 2023, I was a member of Hamilton United Elite playing in the Ontario Player Development League (U13 - U16), the highest level of youth soccer in the Province of Ontario. I typically play left forward but am open to playing anywhere on the field (Yes, I am a true lefty!).   

I was identified early in my career and was recruited to play up a year for U13.  I had a solid first season and was chosen to attend the Provincial Program I.D. camp.  I made the final selections before the camp was terminated due to Covid-19.

Upon returning to training in 2021, I had another strong season while playing U14, and was selected to participate in both Provincial and Canadian National I.D. camps (https://www.ontariosoccer.net/ndc).  

2022 was a successful year playing U15, and our team finished tied for first in the Province.  Based on my performance during the season, I was selected to attend the Provincial Screening Camp in March 2023 and was ultimately selected to the 2023 U16 Provincial Xcel Team (Team Ontario).  

A successful 2023 season (U16) resulted in an invitation to the Canada Soccer National Development Center Identification Event (NDC Ontario), which took place over five days in October 2023.  This selection was based on my performance with Team Ontario and during my U16 season with Hamilton United.  In February 2024 was again selected to the Provincial Xcel Team (U17 - Team Ontario), and will represent the Province throughout the 2024 season.

Outside of soccer, I am a member of my High School Track team focusing on the 100m dash.  In 2022 and 2023 I made the Provincial / Regional finals and currently have a PR of 13.79 seconds. 

I am committed to both academics and soccer and give 100% to both.  My focus is to play high-level soccer at a competitive college in the United States while furthering my education.  My family is very supportive and is committed to my progress.

I will graduate from High School in June 2025 and look forward to what lies ahead.
