I have grown up with some of the greatest role models all thanks too tennis. They've constantly encouraged me by being so involved in their sport that it drives me to be just like them. Listening to the stories they come back and tell when their granted a break from their busy college lives has got me utterly thrilled to play division I tennis in university!
Though for the majority of tennis players in Canada, tennis has come to a screeching halt, I have the unique opportunity to continue my training as I am lucky enough to have a hard court, hitting wall and ball machine in my backyard. I spent the majority of the 2019-2020 indoor season working diligently with my coaches Mike Hall and Victor Hoang on solidifying my skills and gaining confidence in order to improve my tournament play.
Sports have been a massive part of my life since I was first able to walk and the variety of sports I have played and excelled at have truly prepared and trained both my physical fitness and mental toughness. I have played Rep soccer since the age of 9 and most recently have led my team as their elected captain for the past 3 years. Entering highschool I began to explore a variety of varsity sports and have played on every team that could accommodate my busy tennis training schedule. For three years in a row I have been granted my school's Athlete of the Year Award for my ability to excel in the variety of sports I play and during this time have accomplished bringing home 8 City championships and 6 Southern Ontario championships. Through a variety of both team and individual sports including soccer, touch football, volleyball, track and field, cross country, downhill skiing, badminton and even ultimate frisbee, I have developed into a dynamic team player and leader, guiding my teammates to many Gold medal finals. I am known to be dynamic and hardworking and my extroverted personality allows me to connect and adapt to new environments quickly!
My academics are also very important to me as I have worked extremely hard to maintain and achieve a core grade point average of 3.8. I have developed excellent working relationships with my teachers and peers and have served on our schools’ student parliament as Minister of Social Relations with great enthusiasm.
