My name is Briana Riley, I am entering my senior year at John Paul II Catholic School in Ridgeland, South Carolina. I am interested in playing at the collegiate level. Soccer is instrumental in my life and I would like to continue playing and growing into an all-around student athlete. I take my academic life very seriously and I work hard to maintain and improve my soccer skills daily.
I started my soccer journey at 4 years old, but I started club at 10 years old in Pensacola, FL. I am a military child so I have moved around a lot, but never failed to find a club and commit to improving my soccer techniques. I have been successful in adjusting to a new team and new coach with a new style of play.
I primarily play right wing; however, I have been utilized in multiple positions, to include attacking center mid and striker in both High School and Club teams. During the 2016-2017 High School Season, my team placed Runner-Up State Champs in only the school’s second season of offering Women’s Varsity Soccer. This past season, my first with my current High School, I had the honor of being selected Varsity Captain and being rostered to the All-Region team. In addition to High School soccer, I play club soccer for GPS Coastal Academy Girls 99 Gold.
As a student, my cumulative GPA is 4.25. For senior year, I am enrolled in AP and Honor level classes only. I received a 22 out of 32 on my ACT scores and scored an 1100 out of 1600 on the SAT, but am awaiting new test scores as I retested in early June. I am interested in this school not only for the soccer opportunity, but also to study Athletic Training and to eventually pursue a Doctorate in Physical Therapy.
