My name is Maricris Albarda with expected graduation in 2020 with honors from Veterans Memorial High School in Corpus Christi, Texas. I currently play for Corinthians FC Academy in San Antonio, Texas. I have been playing club soccer since 6 years old, and have been on several elite club teams including traveling out of town for San Antonio Lonestar and Sting Austin/San Antonio. I have also had the experience to be the youngest player on a premier team, Great Western Soccer League U18G Warcats.
I plan to graduate with honors in May 2020. I am a consistent A/B student that has been taking Pre-Ap, AP, and Dual Credit courses since Freshman year. My current GPA is a 3.9, and I am currently in the top 21% of my class. My future goal is to earn my college degree majoring in Physical Therapy while playing for a collegiate soccer team. I have the determination, motivation, and perseverance to reach my goals since I have learned to maintain A/B honors in my academics in school, stay active in both my club soccer leagues and high school soccer, traveling out of town/state for games, and continue to maintain my religion and family lifestyle.
I am a versatile player with a dominate left foot but able to switch. I am an all offensive player, but prefer to play attacking and holding midfield. As a select club player, I am most utilized as an attacking and holding midfield but have shifted to forward and left/right wing. As a high school player, I have played all positions except goalie. I have also been selected for Regional Pool in the Texas Olympic Development Program (ODP) in 2018. Being on the Varsity soccer team since Freshman year, I have learned leadership and team building. I work hard to lead by example on and off the pitch. I am known to remain calm in different situations and purposefully encourage my teammates before, throughout, and after the games. I strive for a consistent, positive environment. My style of play is technical, fast, and controlled while focusing on possession style soccer.
Overall, I will give my 100% with no exception to be able to play collegiate soccer. I believe I have the qualifications to be a strong addition to any college team since I am a well-rounded technical and speedy player. I am in excellent physical shape, competitive, and have a positive spirit. My leadership qualities, being coachable, and my passion for soccer makes me a valuable addition to your soccer team. Thank you for your time!
