Ever since I was eight years old I knew I wanted to take my dedication for the sport of soccer as far as I could. I have found a deep love for the sport that will forever be with me. I started playing soccer right after I was adopted, and it has become a way for me to escape my reality of everyday stressors. The sport has definitely tested my limits and has shown me how to work hard for everything. It has taught me who I want to be as a person, and that is a strong driven woman that will give nothing but her best.
While being a student- athlete, my plan is to major in Psychology and earn my Bachelor’s degree. I want to eventually work toward my Master’s degree to become a Psychiatrist and practice in Texas. Another goal of mine would be to become either a Forensic Psychiatrist or a Multi-Specialty Psychiatrist and work in the hospitals.
Psychology has always interested me because it's fascinating to me how people think and react to certain situations. I like learning about how people's brains work and how they behave. I always knew I wanted to work where I can help people everyday and change their lives, especially children. With my own experiences growing up, I know what it felt like to feel alone and not to have that person to talk to. I never wish this for anyone, so with my degree I hope to change many lives.
Fulfilling my dream of becoming a collegiate student- athlete and receiving a degree in Psychology would not only fulfill a dream of mine, but it would teach me many life lessons that I strive to learn and accelerate at. This opportunity will give me the tools and resources I need to become the woman I strive to be in this crazy world.
