Being a soccer player that stands out on a team can be difficult because there are so many great players. However, I stand out because of my physical/mental abilities and by being a team player. I am incredibly fast to the ball and I am extremely aggressive. I have a relentless mindset, so if I lose the ball I will fight for it until I win it back. I'm always working to be aware of creating open space and finding the angles to effectively pass the ball.
Being a team player means a few things to me. If we are losing our game 5-0 I will keep pushing myself, and never quit. I encourage my teammates to keep fighting and never give up. To me, being a team player also means I am not selfish with the ball. For example, if I see that my teammate is in a better position to score, I won't try to dribble the ball and try to score on my own. I will pass the ball to that teammate who is more likely to make the goal.
It was around the age of eight when I realized how much I loved to play soccer. I love the challenge of observing the field, analyzing where the players are, and making a smart decision in a matter of seconds of how and where to move the ball. I am always trying to learn more about the game by reading books about soccer, attending live games of all ages, and watching it on TV. In college I want to be in a motivating and uplifting soccer program where I can grow in the sport that I love. No negativity; only positivity!
