At 6 years old I was put in foster care. I was just one day taken away from my family and sent to another families house. I was with strangers and at 6 you don't understand what's happening. I didn't know if I would ever get to see my family again. Right now I look back and that was the last time I saw them. I was given no warning or heads up, social workers just came to my house and took me. My older sister was devastated but she knew it was the best for us. My older sister, Kayla, was there for me, she kept me and my younger brother, Alex, safe and made sure that we had everything needed (putting us before herself). But then, one day we my sister was taken from me and my brother; she was sent to a different home and so were me and Alex. The family me and Alex were sent to adopted us in 2015 when I was a 4th grader. They adopted me and they gave me my first opportunity to play a sport. I chose soccer and right away I fell in love with it. Soccer is my outlet for whenever I go through hard times or want to be alone. Soccer has always been there for me even when everything else is quite shaky. My adopted parents have done so much to help me find and pursue that passion to as far as God wants me to go with it. If it wasn't for soccer my life would be stripped into pieces right now and I wouldn't be the person I am today. Soccer has taught me so much through my years of playing. I am just extremely blessed (even though I am not with my birth parents because I was adopted) to have found something that lets me be me and express myself. Thank-you soccer!
