Hi my name is Makayla Ivey, I'm 15 years old and I go to Colonial Heights High School in Colonial Heights, Virginia. I've been playing soccer since I was 5 years old and I've always had a passion for soccer. I think the best part about soccer is being out on the field with my teammates and looking around and just knowing that everyone of my teammates has my back no matter what and that's what I love the most about this sport is that even though I may not be related to my teammates biologically it still feels like I have a whole family full of sisters. I want to be the first woman in my family to play women's soccer at a collegiate level. I'm determined to get there with hard work, dedication, time, effort, and practice. I'm always willing to help another teammate out on and off the field. On the field no matter if were up or down I'll never give up and I'll keep pushing to have a great outcome at the end. In the classroom I always try to do my best even when I'm not sure about things and I study and practice to get a good outcome on tests, quizzes, exams, etc. I want to be a role model for girls in foster care or girls that were adopted and aspiring to play collegiate level soccer that no matter where they come from they can still make something extraordinary out of themselves. Thank you for taking the time to read my personal statement and I hope you have a blessed day!!
