My name is Lilia Fiorda. I believe my tenacity, dedication, and open mindedness to learn and improve have been key in my success as a person and on the soccer field. I know that nothing comes without discipline/resilience and that is why, in addition to my team training sessions, I practice individually to achieve my goals of being the best player I can be and pursuing my passion at the collegiate level.
This past fall, I trained at TOVO Barcelona Academy in Spain to improve both my mental knowledge of the game (soccer IQ and decision making), and physical components (execution and skills) of the game. While playing abroad and being coached under Todd Beane and Oscar Jorquera, I focused on continuing to build my strengths of creativity, speed, and ability to frequently get the ball in the back of the net but also combining it with Johan Cruyff's Methodology of exploiting the opponent using space, to be a threat as an attacker.
During my freshman year, I was awarded the All Player Newcomer of the Year for being a hardworking and self-motivated player that goes above and beyond inside and out of training. Woodinville High School’s head coach, M’ily Reiter, gave an example of this by saying how I, a freshman at the time, was the only one to continue running the beep test past the minimum number required to pass at tryouts, even after everybody else quit. This philosophy of always going the extra mile is a mindset I carry onto the field as well. I push myself to train at an intense level in practice, so I can mirror that level in games. In 2022, I was awarded Offensive MVP of the year for scoring 11 out of the 51 total goals scored by my team and being a key player in the attack. Although I mostly play any attacking position, I am versatile and have put several minutes in as a defender this past spring. I am a captain of both my club and high school teams where it’s my job to encourage and motivate my team by bringing the energy onto the pitch throughout the full 90 minutes, hence how I got the nickname of “Energizer Bunny” on the field.
