MARINA THOMPSON '22 Recruiting Profile

ABOUT ME: 

I would like to start by thanking you for taking the time to read and review my NCSA profile. Currently, I am a junior that will graduate in the class of 2022 at West Salem High School, located in West Salem, Wisconsin.  As an ambitious student-athlete, I have always set high expectations of myself academically and athletically, and I am looking for a college that can match those expectations. Maintaining my 4.0 GPA throughout highschool has awarded me with High Honor Roll status each and every semester so far thus proving the personal importance of my education. In school, I am recognized for participating in the following clubs: DECA, Link Crew, and the National Honor Society. I am proud to represent my school, my community, and myself in a positive way. 

SOCCER EXPERIENCE:

My love for the game has provided me with many successful years of soccer experience. Ever since I was young, I have searched for the opportunity to improve. Whether it was playing up an age level or two, or even playing against the opposite gender, my dedication to improvement has never failed me. Throughout my years of club soccer, I have played on the C1 Mississippi Valley Storm and the RUSH Wisconsin West soccer teams. These two clubs have provided me with high levels of competition throughout the years. Additionally, I was selected to play on the Wisconsin State Olympic Development Team for three consecutive years. As far as my high school experience, my freshman year I not only earned a spot on the varsity team, but I was also named to the starting roster. At the end of my freshman season, I had the pleasure to say I was awarded Second-Team All-Conference recognition. Although my sophomore season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I am ready to come back junior season improved and ready to play! In order to do so, during the off-season, I am self-motivated to consistently lift, condition, and get touches on the ball individually and through practices and tournaments. In the end, my aspiration is to be able to say I had the opportunity to play competitively at the collegiate level.
