Personal Statement

I continuously played many sports but never found one I immensely enjoyed. However, during the 2016 Summer Olympics, I tuned in to the live broadcast of swimming. I was lucky enough to discover Canadian swimmer Penny Oleksiak while she swam her 100-meter freestyle. Not only was this race memorable in the history of Canadian sports, but it also inspired me to take up competitive swimming. Afterward, swimming became one of the most valued parts of my life as that is where I grew stronger mentally and physically. With many years of competitive swimming training, I learned the importance of persistence and commitment to training myself to stick with strenuous tasks to turn challenges into success. Not only did swimming bring me joy, but it also taught me to illustrate my passions for success while learning from failure.

I hope to pursue business in the future during my collegiate experience.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
