I am performance orientated and am looking for a top level, Division 1 program that will support me in achieving a balance between academics and swimming while excelling at both. I am looking for an undergraduate program that will prepare me for medical school. In the pool, I want to be part of a team with coaching that maximizes my swimming potential, teammates who train and aspire to be their best, and a program that is successful at the national level. My ultimate goal is to represent my country at the Olympics.
I understand the concept of team and the importance of coaches and swimmers collaborating to achieve success. I am dedicated to my sport. I am both growth and goal orientated, strive to develop collaborative relationships with coaches and teammates, and possess the athletic ability to turn feedback and training into success. My work ethic is impeccable. I am positive, flexible, energetic, and fun. I am dedicated to my swimming. The pool is where I am happiest.
I have the passion and heart to achieve and be my best. I am strong and persevere. I have always experienced successful since I started swimming. Two years ago, a coaching change at my club resulted in a new coach who did not possess the skills to advance my swimming. This was a trying time for me, not experiencing the success that I was accustomed to. After a year and a half I made the decision to change clubs. This resulted in me having to travel to another city. Swimming with a new coach resulted in my growth as a swimmer. However, this club recently folded its high performance program and I have had to change clubs again. Through all of this I have preserved and not lost sight of my swimming goals, or my desire to be successful. It has been hard. I did not give up!
I have intellectual curiosity and strive for academic excellence. I want to be a part of an academic community of thinkers who are creative, freely share ideas and are passionate about learning, growing, understanding, and achieving. I want to attend a college where I can get an outstanding education and embark upon my dream to become a doctor who helps children and those in need. I am ready to be inspired. I am ready to learn.
I started swimming at six, and ten years later I still love swimming. I am proud of my achievements:
