Swim has been a huge part of my life ever since I was four years old, when I started swimming competitively. I have grown as both a swimmer and an individual because of the sport. I have aspired to swim at the collegiate lever for several years now. I understand it is a huge commitment, but I am willing to dedicate myself because of my love for the sport.
As a child I loved to swim, whether it was in my backyard or for our rec swim league. Once I was older, I decided I wanted to reach my untapped potential and began swimming with the Davis Aqua Monsters to receive the push I had been missing. Immediately after joining we began to see improvements in my times and technique, motivating me to push myself harder to get better.
With every season I drop time but know that there is still room to become the best version of the swimmer I want to be. This is because not only am I a swimmer, but am a water polo player as well, and unable to train with a year-round program. Bonus - this also means my times can drop even more with the next level of training that I would receive at the collegiate level. I have set new time goals for my senior year and am planning to practice with my Davis team through the high school season to achieve them and show what I am capable of. I have not previously swum year round because I chose to continue swimming with my town’s recreational league because of the comradery and flexibility to be a multi-sport athlete. Here I hold several records with the team and league and love continuing to break them, which motivates me to continue working hard. I strive to be my best no matter where I am competing.
