My name is Emma Morse, and I am 16 years old. I am a junior at Dixon High School where I am a straight A student and ranked 14th in my class. I have always loved playing sports, I’m extremely competitive and truly enjoy perfecting my craft — I have swam and played soccer and basketball since I was very young. But it wasn’t until getting in the water as a freshman at water polo tryouts that I finally understood what it meant to fall in love with a sport.
I was hooked from day one. My love and passion for the game has grown exponentially from there. After starting as a freshman, I decided to give water polo and academics my one hundred percent focus, swimming in the offseason to strengthen that skill for water polo.
My love for this sport has taught me many things that have helped me grow into a better version of myself. My ultimate goal is to grow into the best version of myself possible. At this stage of my life, that means completing a four-year degree and continuing my devotion to water polo. I have what it takes to compete at the next level and would love the opportunity to prove that through hard work and my complete commitment to getting better. In terms of life after water polo, I’d like to remain top in my class in college in order to pursue a degree in nursing upon graduation.
