Hello! Thank you for checking my profile. My name is Kirsten Villa, and I am looking to compete in swimming for college! Currently, I swim with Los Angeles Swim Club and have been with them my entire swim career. My best strokes are butterfly and freestyle, but I also train as an IMer.
For me, a good athlete is someone who is relentless. Of course, speed is important, and your times are really what allow you to enter into new leagues of swimming. But without drive, an individual won't get far. This is something that sets me apart from other swimmers. I have an everlasting curiosity about how far I can push myself in the water. Even during practice, when my body is burning, and my lungs feel like they're about to burst, there is something in me that keeps me going and refuses to stop on the wall. I don't know if it's my pride, or maybe I just hate leaving things unfinished, but I know that it is special and that not many swimmers have it. I know for a fact that my potential is limitless, and I strongly believe that with the right coaching and team, I will be able to push myself and reach new heights in swimming.
I am looking for a school that will help shape me into a stronger individual mentally, spiritually, and physically. I am excited to see what the future holds for my sport!
