“Daddy, will you teach me how to swim?”
My love for the water has been evident ever since I was a toddler, in the hot tub with my water wings, asking my dad if he could help me learn to swim. This passion for swimming hasn’t just stuck with me for the past 12 years, but has matured into something truly spectacular. Every day, inside and outside of the water, I strive to strengthen my swimming career so I can reach my goal of competing at the college level and being part of a team where I truly feel I belong. To me, swimming means so much more than just competition. It is about friendships, character building, getting outside of my comfort zone, and finding my true self.
I am a team player, I love to learn, I am extremely motivated, and I look for new ways to improve upon myself each and every day. These characteristics not only apply to athletics, but also to academics. I wish to find a college that challenges me in equally in both areas, because I want to maintain a healthy balance in my life. It’s no lie: being able to bring in all of my mental and physical efforts every single day requires an extreme amount of time, focus, and devotion, but I wholeheartedly believe I am up to the challenge. I look forward to contributing to an energetic and wholesome college atmosphere.
