Penelope Curran '25 Recruiting Profile

Currently, I am a Senior at RHAM High School in Hebron, CT. I have been an integral member of the Manchester-RHAM Co-ed/Co-op Swim team for the past 3 years. In addition, I am also a club swimmer on the Laurel East Hartford YMCA (LEHY) swim team since I was 7 years old. My favorite events are the 100 and 200 Breaststroke, where I have qualified for CT Short Course and Long Course Senior Championships s in those events. On my high school team I often compete in the 200 IM and the 500 free, as well as the 100 Breast where I qualified for Class LL Boys Championships (our high school team is Co-ed and competes during the winter/boys season). Most recently I was named to CT Swimming Top 16.

Continuing my swimming career in college and contributing to the team are very important to me. Over the past few years I have grown as a swimmer and a teammate and I am excited about the opportunities for personal growth that college swimming can provide. As far as what I’d like to pursue academically in college, I am undecided right now on a major. But I am passionate about art. Currently I am taking AP Drawing, and I think I may focus on marketing, graphic design, or communications in college and hopefully minor or do a concentration in visual arts.
