Hi. My name is Paige Volpe and I swim for the New Canaan YMCA Caimans in New Canaan, CT. Being apart of the Caimans for about six years now has taught me so many lessons from in to out of the pool. I have also learned a lot about myself, especially as an athlete. I am extremely hardworking and try my best not to let anything get in the way of my training. I am very self-aware when it comes to swimming, that way I know what I am doing wrong and learn how to improve. There have only been a few days throughout my swimming career where I had come into practice not smiling. I absolutely love being in the water and with my teammates. Although practices might not be the most fun, my commitment to my goals helps me to never give up and stay focused. I know that hard work pays off and I remind myself of that whenever I'm struggling during a hard set. Of course, my whole life isn't just about swimming. I tend to carry over the same work habits from swimming into my school work. I work for very hard in school because I know academics play a crucial role in the college process, especially recruiting. I am currently in honors classes and will be taking a few AP's at the start of my junior year, next fall. Overall, I am constantly motivated and determined to work hard in order to achieve that feeling when it all pays off because it's the best.
