Swimming has had a significant impact on me since the day I learned how to swim. At 9 years old, I had my first recreational swim meet (my team was not under USA swimming), and since then I fell in love with the sport. I eventually quit doing track and field, which I had done for 3 years, to put all my effort into becoming a better swimmer.
On my current team, I've learned that having people around you that will motivate you to be better helps you achieve your goals. We are always supporting each other and no matter how small our group is, we will be the loudest ones on the pool deck. I'm someone who will take this supportive mentality into my college swimming because it fosters a positive team dynamic, and increases motivation and performance.
Another important part of my swimming career is my dryland program, Swimstrong Dryland. My dryland coach, Eric Hudson, started this program to spread the right information about good nutrition, motivation, injury prevention, and most importantly an amazing dryland program. Over my three years of doing dryland with him, I became a much more powerful swimmer in the water, because his workouts are made specifically for this sport. He has taught me to have a positive mindset over anything else because you can only achieve what you believe in.
Outside of swimming, I prioritize my academics too. I'm very well-rounded in all subjects, but I have a love for mathematics. Before entering a private middle school, I received a perfect math FSA score two years in a row and continued to excel in math throughout middle school. In high school, I continue to challenge myself in my math classes, taking Geometry Honors in 9th grade Precalculus Honors in 10th grade, and AP Calculus and AP Art History in my 11th-grade year.
I am confident that these experiences have prepared me to overcome future challenges and achieve greatness in all areas of my life. I am eager to bring this same level of dedication and commitment to your college team, where I am confident that I will flourish academically, athletically, and personally.
Thank you for reading this and I would love for you to reach out to me!
