2021 SpotlightPersonal Statement
My name is Lily Poorman and I have been swimming competitively for ten years. In all four years of high school, I competed for my local club team and my varsity high school team. Through high school swimming, I have qualified for four district championships and four regional championships in both individual events and relays. I was awarded the High School Student-Athlete Award in 2019 and 2020 and I was my high school team captain for my senior year (2020-2021 season).
Along with my achievement in swimming, my academic qualifications make me a strong competitor. Throughout high school, I have excelled in the classroom and participated in various clubs and community service organizations which range from writing, literature, and art to volunteering abroad.
My athletic and academic expertise and commitments have made me a strong communicator and leader and will allow me to be a passionate member of my future college community.
