I started swimming on my first club team when I was 6 years old, and I’ve been hooked ever since. My love for the sport causes me to work my hardest and persevere whenever I face challenges. In fact, I can still remember the determination I felt to complete my first New Year’s swim, a notoriously hard practice, as a 6 year old despite having a 104-degree fever. Even while fighting the flu, I was still the first swimmer in my group to complete the swim. Since then, I have continued to persevere with the same determination whenever I face challenges.
Although swimming is my main focus, I have also played many other sports to help me stay in shape. I have competed on the varsity level for my school in both soccer and cross country, as well as playing club volleyball. Despite the number of extracurriculars in which I participate, academics have always been my number one priority. I maintain an unweighted grade point average of 98/100 or higher every quarter while taking the most rigorous course load available. I also achieved a 32 on the ACT when I took it in 8th grade, and I plan to take it again this year. Although I do not know what I want to major in yet, I know I want to attend a very selective academic university.
I am looking forward to making a splash both in the pool and out at whichever school I attend!
