My name is Benita. I'm a senior in high school, as well as team captain of the Hoffman Estates high school swim team. I began my swimming career at a very young age, and have been persuing it ever since, which gave me the opportunity to swim at the varsity level for all four years of my swimming career.
One goal that I have is to take my swimming career to the collegiate level. The moment you look back at the scoreboard and find that you've dropped time, is the reason I have fallen in love with this sport. You get to put yourself through tough practices every single day, trying to perfect your technique, stroke rate, and turns, only to eventually swim times you thought were once impossible to hit. You get to beat yourself. Having the opportunity to swim in college, would mean that I can continue doing what I love most.
I am a sprinter. I mostly swim the 50 and 100 free, as well as the 100 back.
I have succesfully balanced being an all year-round athlete, swimming and playing water polo both in and out of season, as well as my classes, many of them being honors and AP classes. While swimming at the collegiate level, I hope to major in Psychology.
