My name is Maggie Adler and I am a Junior at Lyons Township High School. My collegiate goals and aspirations include continuing my student-athlete career from high school into college and continuing to be a valuable part of a team while also focusing on individual goals within my swim career. I have always been a leader on my team and an extremely hard worker.
When I was a freshman, I was placed on our Varsity team. I was able to swim 4 events each meet and was also the anchor on my team's Varsity A 200 free relay. This experience, though being stressful and filled with pressure, helped me gain perseverance, leadership skills, and helped me foster a strong sense of team spirit that has continued throughout my highschool years. Our junior year team swim season was a great success as we won our sectional meet and I was also able to personally qualify for state in all 4 events. Next season, I plan on being a leader and candidate for captain on my high school team.
I have definitely developed positive strong leadership skills going into collegiate swimming. I am also looking forward to continuing my academic career. I realize that being a student athlete requires organization and good time management. I have been successful with this during my highschool career and am planning on continuing this into my college career. It has been my goal throughout my athletic career to not only work on my individual goals, but to also foster a strong team spirit and work with my teammates to meet their own goals. I'm very excited about this opportunity!
