My passion for swimming grew in middle school! My whole life I have participated in many different sports such as soccer, skiing, and dancing. I joined my first swim team a year after my sister did at a local Boys and Girls Club, and I really loved it! I had early successes my first year and won most of my events. In my second year I was invited to join team New England at the Boys & Girls Club CVST National Championships in Florida. I continued at a national level for the next 3 years/ Last year I decided that I wanted to switch to a more dedicated competitive US swim club. I have not only improved my times, but my stroke technique has grown significantly. Now swimming for my high school team and club, I have come to appreciate that teammates/teamwork, strong coaching, work ethic, and pride in individual accomplishments I bring to the team are very important to me. Teammates all have to support each other, have fun, and try for personal bests in every single event. I hope to bring leadership, a strong work ethic, and passion for swimming to any team I am with.
Academically, I work just as hard in the classroom as I do in the pool. My education is just as important as my athletic career. I hope to continue to grow in both. For college I do not yet know exactly what I want to pursue academically. I know I have a strong interest in Health sciences at this time. Fields such at nursing, physical therapy, genetic engineering, and biology are fields of study that interest me.
