I have been swimming since I was 11 years old, and it has been my only sport since. I began my swimming career on a recreational team, and now I swim both rec and high school. The coach of my rec team told me that to be a good swimmer, you need a competitive drive and a good sense of sportsmanship, and I do have both.
My favorite part of swimming as a sport is the support you get from not only your teammates, but your competitors. At the high school meets, there is always cheering, for everyone, because when you're swimming, you are racing the clock. I am always shaking my opponents hands after a face, win or loss, and I think that good sportsmanship is one of the most important qualities an athlete can posses.
I have always done very well in school, and getting good grades is something that is very important to me and my family. I am taking three honors classes, and as a freshman I am taking sophomore math. I am also taking Spanish 2 as a freshman because Spanish 1 was offered to a select few students in 8th grade. I am also currently enrolled at Holyoke Community College to take some courses with my schools dual enrollment program
For the 2019-2020 season, I was on the B-Patriot League All Star List. This was my freshman season and during this season, in every one of my races, I finished earning my team points. I also made the same list my Sophomore year.
I think I would be a very good addition to any team. I have good leadership skills, and I am always looking for ways to help.
