I also swim the 200 free, 200 fly, and 200 back but it wouldn’t let me put it on my profile, my statement is under the times!

Hi I’m Mackenzie, If I could describe myself I would say a good athlete but an even better teammate. One thing I’ve been always been taught is to respect my coaches and teammates. I’m always someone they can rely on for relays because even if I have a bad prelims session, I’ll go all out.
When people talk to me about swim they are always surprised with how humble I am, because I don’t see myself as a “elite“ athlete. I simply do this sport because I’m competitive and find it fun. I think my perspective is that way because I’ve had people tell me that I would never be at the level of swim I am at now, which motivated me to always want to be better.
I started competitive swim around 10 on a local ymca team, I continued swimming on that team till covid because the team shut down due to lockdown.
The only other “local” swim team I could go to was Solo Aquatics, now commonwealth swimming. (it’s 45 minutes away from my house)
If I’m being honest I wasn’t ready to swim on commonwealth because I wasn’t as fast as the other kids were at the time, I was very behind.
For two years I worked tremendously hard. I started seeing great results in my swimming this year and sophomore year, I mean I was dropping almost 10 seconds in everything, and even picked up multiple events!
For example my freshman year I didn’t even make the top 10 at my high school states, I also didn’t qualify for speedo sectionals.
I came back better, and committed to what I needed to do. Sophomore year I got 2nd and 3rd at my high school states and I qualified for Speedo sectionals, for five events! I also made my first futures cut in my 100 meter backstroke by dropping 1.67 seconds off my entry time.
Going into junior year, I wanted to top that. I got two state champion titles, two north sectional champion titles, and two MVC champion titles. I broke a total of seven school records. I got athlete of the year on the Boston globe for division two, I made the Boston herold team, I got MCV swimmer of the year, and I got swimmer of the year two years in a row for the Lowell sun. I followed up with my second futures cut a few months later in the 200 yard backstroke where I dropped 8.24 seconds off my entry time.
I also finished off my season with two more futures in the 100 free where I dropped .84 off my entry time and the 100 back where I dropped .60 off my entry time. I got a total of seven sectionals cuts this year, and also got to participate in two sectional medaling relays.
Reading this statement I hope that you understand, I'm a hard worker and if you give me an opportunity to race, I’ll run with it.
If you want to know anything about my swimming feel free to send me a message!
