Meghan Watson '21 Recruiting Profile

My name is Meghan Watson and I am a junior at Lamar High School. I have been swimming for 8 years on club teams and the past 3 years on my high school varsity team as well. Swimming is my passion and has been ever since the beginning. I hope to get faster and stronger every day of training and to build new friendships on a collegiate team along with a greater desire to succeed. I am a three-year state qualifier and two-year finalist (placing 7th in 2019 and 5th in 2020 in the 100-yard butterfly). I plan to continue to work hard in the water every day to be the best athlete I can be.

I am 14th in my class ranking with a 3.9 GPA that I have maintained throughout 11 years of school. I work hard in the water and the classroom. I am also an active member of my community through my Girl Scout Troop that I have been a member of for 11 years. I have helped organize and volunteer to serve meals at the Ronald McDonald House, built and continually restock a book barn at our local summer camp daycare, and ran a fitness club for girls in 3rd through 6th grades to promote healthy and fun lifestyles while encouraging powerful women mindsets in our local schools. We are currently working on customizing ball cap style hats for our community's cancer survivors. I also volunteer at my church's VBS program as many years as I am available for and an active member of our Wild Youth Group. I have a deep connection with our Lord and Savior and want to continue to spread the love of Jesus through my actions and my words while competing, training, and learning.
