Through 8 years of swimming and years of schooling, my goals and aspirations have grown. I am now 15 years old and I was lucky enough to experience a teams work ethic to tears, laughters, hard work, and dedication. I have had several injuries and that has never stopped the drive of succeeding my goals. I'm that person who will cheer for anyone on the team, encouraging my teammates in practice to keep going, even if it's painful. Shaking my competitors hands and wishing those around me good luck. I could say as an athlete I am not the best, but I am willing to do the work to get there. Even if I'm sick or not feeling well, I will still go to morning practice before school and head to afternoon practice after school. Something that I have always had is the dedication to work and to do things others aren't willing to do to be the best, even if that means going to the gym after practice. Several athletes I have met athletes that take there sport for granted and chose not to love it. Having breaks from injuries in some seasons has taught me to cherish the sport and has showed me how much I truly love swimming. I'm lucky enough to be an athlete as an individual, but to be apart of a team that makes the training sessions bearable. I guess those traits make me a bit different than other athletes. For school, I organize my entire day throughout school. During lunch I tend to study a lot or try to do homework if possible since I know I have practice. For school I make sure all my assignments are in, I call friends if I need help, I reach out to my teachers after school for help for the next test, I check up with my grades often; especially having days where I'm at a swim meet and not at school, emailing teachers is a saver for me. I tend to like to do my homework right after practice to get it out of the way, with the limited amount of time I have. I go to the library every morning and make sure I have all my homework, everything that needed to be turn in online is in, and my group of friends and I tend to talk about about test coming up or how it went. I like to stay on top of my grades and I will do extra credit for classes even if I don't need it. I will stay up all night to get what I have to get done, finished for my class. Most of my teachers are so confused on how I train 9 times a week for swim and get all my assignments in and finished. I also am involved in the announcements and thats a fun part of my day. I like helping the school get there news out and it's a lot of fun with the crew we have. My life is basically school, swim, and repeat.
