I first started swimming when i was 2 years old. I always wanted to swim at a college level but i knew I had to work hard to pursue my dreams. Every practice I pushed myself and tried my best not to miss any. Eventually my dreams became reality. I am a competitive swimmer on Long Island Express swim team as well as East Meadow Varsity Swimming & Diving. I try to lead my team to victory each and every meet as well as encourage my teammates to work hard in practice to reach their personal goals.
This year I had the honor to serve on board for my Jewish youth organization. My position was Aym-Ha Chaverot which mean Vice President of Membership. Being on board consists of attending meetings each week to talk about upcoming events and how to better our chapter, as well as planning events for the rest of the organization to enjoy. This role has taught me how to lead by examples, earn respect from my peers, and manage my time. In the beginning it was hard to balance keeping up my grades, swim, and being on board but I eventually figured it out. This experience in a leadership role can help me to lead a team and encourage swimmers to strive to be the best version of themselves. The ideal college for me is one that is able to push me academically as well as in the pool. I hope to swim for a college and become a leader for my peers and teammates.
