My family is a strong influence on my life. I started swimming because my mom would take my sister and I to the rec center and I saw a swimteam there and I wanted to join. My dad supports me by being active on the board for my swim teams. He also gives me coaching advice before my races. My time on swimteam has taught me if I work hard I will improve.
I'm also very helpful with my grandfather who had a brian injury two years ago. I help my grandma take care of him by helping him get around, eat, and remind him of things he has forgot. I also volunteer in the community through the Rotary Club of North Ridgeville. This year I was the Easter Bunny and in the spring I will help clean up and prepare Safetyville for the kids that will go there this summer.
Through the years on my swimteam I have proven to my coaches that I am responsible and skilled enough to be a coach last season and this upcoming season. I plan to use this experience when I take lifeguard training classes later this year.
