Almost immediately after becoming a competitive swimmer at the age of 7, I quickly realized that swimming was my passion. At the age of 12, I qualified for my first Junior Nationals in Quebec City and have qualified every year since and I am currently training to prepare for my first appearance at the Canadian Swimming Trials this coming April in Toronto. With a solid support network from my peers in the pool and at school, I know I will continue to swim throughout my secondary and post-secondary education.
In order to become a better athlete, I strive to be receptive to the advice and feedback from my coaches with the understanding that it will make me a better swimmer. At every practice, I work hard and focus on the aspects of stroke correction and race strategies that will benefit me when I am competing.
Although swimming is my passion, I also excel at school. Just like in the pool, I work hard and have been able to maintain an average of 87%. I am actively involved in various high school sports including basketball and track and field. Over the last two years, I have been a volunteer swim coach for athletes aged 7-13 and also a Red Cross swim instructor.
As a national athlete, I have become very independent and comfortable with travel. I am ready to relocate in order to continue improving both my swimming skills and speed in a competitive environment while obtaining my post-secondary education. I hope you will consider some of my highlighted characteristics when completing your rosters for 2020.
