Marina Myronenko '21 Recruiting Profile

Swimming has been one of the biggest passions in my life for as long as I can remember, and swimming in university has been one of my biggest goals over the last couple of years. Through swimming I have learned dedication, perseverance, and how to be a great team member. In 2019, I was awarded the Jannet King Memorial Award on my team. This award is given out annually to the athlete that is the most dedicated on the team outside of practice, and is always looking to better the team. I enjoy putting in the effort to help the team bond and grow stronger, whether that is by encouraging a teammate during a hard practice or after a rough race, planning group activities outside of practice, or leading workouts through zoom during lockdown.

I also believe that swimming has taught me to be a hard worker in the classroom as well. I have accomplished honour roll in all four years of highschool, and received the Grade 9 English, Grade 11 Computer Science Award, Grade 12 Computer Science Award, Grade 12 Calculus and Vectors Award, Grade 12 Photography Award in school. I believe that I could make a great impact on any team both academically and athletically, and can’t wait to start a new chapter in my swimming career!
